The Thornton Tigers U18 hockey team captured the Clarington Classic championship in an exciting moment, scoring just 12 seconds into 3-on-3 overtime to win the final after a scoreless regulation game.
Competing without nearly one-third of their roster, the Tigers went undefeated throughout the tournament and outscored their opponents 19–2 heading into the championship game.
The Tigers relied on disciplined defense, strong goaltending, and teamwork.
